A Place to Come Together

Built in May 1997, The Sitka Tribe of Alaska (STA) Community House resides at the entrance to what used to be the “Indian Village” in Sitka, Alaska. In traditional Tlingit society, the “Community House” provided a gathering place for clan families for special occasions.

The Community House is a modern rendition of the Tlingit clan houses of old; complete with massive support beams, open interior, terraced seating, central fire pit, exterior house panels and interior house screen (one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest). This fine facility has some of the most rare acoustics in Sitka, a non-commercial kitchen, and a large projector screen.

Conveniently located in downtown Sitka, The Community House is within proximity to all downtown hotels and 1.7 miles from the Sitka airport.
