Creating space for new industry

The Cottage Industry Development Center provides a space for Southeast Alaskans to develop new cottage businesses to benefit the community and contribute to the overall economy. As of May 2025, more than five small business and individuals have used the Center since it’s inception in 2021.

21’ x 36’ Classroom – Capacity 20

Not currently available for rent.

This can be used for trainings, meetings, or small gatherings. Limited tables and chairs are provided.

Meeting Room Rate: $35/4 hours plus tax

The Commercial Kitchen is great for personal food processing, commercial food processing, catering events, non profit bake sales, food truck preparation, local hunters and fishermen, canning, personal parties, and so much more.

2025 Rates (Based on availability, first come first serve and an additional $200 refundable deposit is required):

Half Day – 4 Hours

$100 plus tax

Full Day – 9 Hours

$200 plus tax

Weekly – 7 Days a Week

$1,300 plus tax

PLEASE NOTE: Each additional hour will be bill at $25. Kitchen cleanup and supplies are the renter’s responsibility during their rental time.

$5 daily plus tax based on availability

PLEASE NOTE: All rates require a $200 refundable deposit as a cleaning/damage deposit. Credit Card or Cash are accepted for payment. All fees will have the current sales tax added to the total cost. 6% sales tax April through September and 5% sales tax October through March.
