Steve Johnson is a commercial fisherman, culture bearer, artist and life long subsistence harvester born and raised in Sitka. He is known for gathering and giving away lots of traditional food. He has served on numerous boards and committees.

His goals are to protect our way of life and to perpetuate culture and serve the tribal people. He follows the ideal of “Choose the best plan to benefit the most people for the longest amount of time”
